Kannawidan? Sure Ilocos Sur!

     


    
    Festival
is an annual celebration of religious or cultural events of the community. It is usually lively and colorful as people celebrates it. Food fairs, street dancing, parades and many more are held during a festival.





    Kannawidan Festival is the pride of the Ilocano culture. Ilocos Sur shows the cultural traditions that is a mixture of Spanish and Filipino culture. Kannawidan is celebrated on the last week of January until the first week of February. During the festival there are a lot of competitions for the residents of Ilocos Sur, such as singing, dancing, painting, beauty pageants and many more.

    Kannawidan shows the forty (40) icons of the Catholic Saints that are part of the procession. The Kannawidan is located at Barangay Tamag, Vigan City. Food, trade fairs and exhibits are seen there.

    Kannawidan festival is celebrated due to rich heritage and culture. It is celebrated to show and share the treasure of Ilocos to the world. Have a safe and wonderful fiesta Ilocos!
